More info

Designed with ultimate portability in mind, whilst retaining important functions and features the LHT series is a handy hardness tester solution.

Features include automatic detection of test direction, switchable display, internal memory of 500 readings, one-touch bluetooth printing and simple, one-hand test operation and USB data transfer. For such a compact unit these features pack a punch for just 147 x 35 x 22mm size.

The hardness value is calculated using the LEEB rebound method by measuring the energy loss of a specified impact body after impacting on a test surface. The results are directly convertible to common scales such as HRC, HRB, HB, HV with a high accuracy of +/- 6HLC.

Available as a basic kit which comprises of the handheld testing device, powered USB cable for charging and data, cleaning brush, software CD-ROM and factory calibration certificate.

Also available is the calibration reference hardness block, which if purchased in the "Complete kit" is the best value at a discounted price from purchasing separately.

FEATURES:

• Ultra compact design
• Integrated indenter
• Auto impact direction sensor
• USB charging and data transfer

The different types of impact devices for various applications are as follows:

C-type

For thin test samples greater than 1mm thickness, light samples and surface hardened layers, select the LHT-C which utilises a lightweight impact device and lower impact test force. Examples of use are for testing thin steel sheets, aluminium sheets or tube components. In use it is important to securely clamp or 'couple' the test piece to ensure there is no impact absorption from vibration which can produce low, inaccurate readings.

DC-type

The DC-type stands only 80mm tall and can squeeze into all kinds of unusual spaces to test hardness. Examples are the inside bore of pipes, edges of i-beam steel girders, chassis rails and similar. Fitted with standard D-type indenter it has a wide measuring range suitable for testing most common metals.

DL-type

Long-nose DL-type is designed for narrow grooves or channels such as o-ring seats, gear teeth and other recessed areas by utilising a needle point tip is long and extremely skinny (6mm.)  The special extended D-type impact device means testing from 20.6 ~ 68.2 HRC is possible.

G-type

Is a specific heavy duty impact device for use on very large, rough samples such as ductile iron castings.
