The FT-327 Pocket Fruit Penetrometer is a portable device designed to determine the ripeness of fruit.

It is generally used to determine if fruit is ready for harvest and also at markets to determine the quality of fruit.  The firmness of fruit changes as it ripens.  See table for more information hardness values.

The PPF-300 is made with a high impact plastic case, aluminium dial, steel spring, brass mechanism chassis and stainless steel plunger.  Also features is a peak hold feature that allows the firmness value to be held until reset by pressing the push button to return the device to zero.
