THERMAX® Adhesive Temperature strips. A permanent indication of highest...
THERMAX® Temperature adhesive labels are used for monitoring of surface temperature in applications across a wide range of industries.
The THERMAX labels are perfect for diagnostics of suspected overheating issues. Place the temperature labels in areas of concern and the label will indicate the highest temperature reached by displaying a colour change.
Generally used for diagnostics, the temperature strips, can be used to identify potential issues of breakdown before the problem arises which allows maintenance to be scheduled rather than having a process go offline unexpectantly which can be very costly.
Temperature labels work by changing colour once certain temperature points have been reached. The colour change is irreversible so that the strips indicate the highest temperature reached. The have a strong adhesive backing meaning they can be attached to almost any surface and are oil and steam reistant. This makes the strips an ideal for monitoring as you apply the strip to the surface being examined and come back at a later point to determine the highest temperature reached. This is especially useful in applications where gaining a live reading is not possible. Examples are locations such as an engine or gearbox in a car or light aircraft, or the rollers inside a press.
The temperature strips cover a variety of different temperature points. There are different strips to cover different temperature ranges and also different amounts of intervals (the number of different temperature points on a strip.) As applications are varied, it is generally a good idea to select a strip where the critical temperature is in the midpoint of the strip range. This will allow you to see if the temperature has gone close to the critical point or even if it has exceeded and by how much. The most commonly used strips are the 8 or 10 level strips, which provide 8 and 10 intervals per strips respectively.
As per the table below, the temperature strips are 8 level strips as each strip contains 8 different temperature points. The range designates the temperature range.
PLEASE NOTE:
Range A strips have a low activation temperature point of 37°C, and must be stored in a cool location or refrigerated. Due to this low activation temperature, we require these to be sent with a specific cool aide to prevent activation occuring during transit.
